So finally we've finished the project that went straight past me. I managed to complete everything despite messing up the first time. There are still a whole lot of things I'm not happy with, but hopefully I've learned a lot and next time will be better. Like I wrote earlier, we've been creating concepts for a small "house" (17,5m2) and it's been nothing short of a challenge.
This thing here is my final concept collage. I'm far from happy with this. I believe I can do better, but I'm still so confused to what it's supposed to contain. Our teachers are being very vague, which I guess is intently, so we'll have a chance to figure it out for ourselves. But like I said; it's hard.
My concept is balance. The little hut is a small yoga and meditation house situated by a little lake on a mountain. It's made up of natural, rustic materials and is perfectly integrated into the natural environment. The collage is focusing on "balance" because yoga and meditation is about inner and outer, mental and physical balance and I wanted that to relfect on how I designed the house and also where I ment for it to be situated.

Gosh, have I learned my lesson. All day, every day since Wednesday have I worked on a concept for school and earlier today I finally decided to take a better look at the project description and discovered I'd done it all wrong. We're creating a concept for a small "house" (17,5 m2) and I had this amazing plan to turn it into a wonderful home spa that would be positioned either in your own backyard (preferably in the country) or close to your hut/cabin/summerhouse.
It would contain a sauna, a rain-shower for two, a big bath inside and a jacuzzi outside, a contemporary fireplace and well, you name it! I was totally seeing the whole thing with great windows to overlook a lake or a mountain passage, fur and skin covered seats, woolen blankets, white towels, full length mirrors reflecting the sparks of the fire.. I could even feel it. That feeling of being outside, in the wonderful, wild nature and still being warm and cosy and fabulous. This little project totally took me back to when I visited the blue lagoon on Iceland and met mr. Amazing Viggo Mortensen. But nah. This little building of ours doesn't have a drain, and the flooring has to be wood, so my fantastic concept just became obsolete, or whatever. Here's the first draft of my concept collage. For what it's worth. My key words were "Rustic minimalist".

As long as I can remember, I've never not been ill when summer fades and fall takes her place. I always get a proper cold and have to stay still and tucked in for days or even weeks. Sometimes it's kind of nice, because like I've said before, I love comfy clothes, hot chocolate and a good movie, but other times, not so nice. My fall-cold is disappearing now though and I can't wait to back in the gym, get my blood flowing and the toxins out of my system. I made this mood board cause I really feel like a proper spa day. And what else is, I do believe I deserve one. Just because I'm a girl!

The past couple of weeks is one big blur. I can barely tell today from yesterday! And every night I come home and feel like I can't get into bed fast enough. But I'm loving every moment of it. I'm looking forward to getting up at 7 tomorrow morning (Saturday) for christ sake! Something's gotta be right in life right now, and I've got a feeling it's the things I do and the wonderful people I'm doing it with.
Another mood board. I'll keep making them until I nail the art of mood board making. This one is inspired by a project we're working on in school. It's supposed to give you a feeling of timeless, classic style, natural harmony and warmth.

It's odd how people feel so completely differently about fall and what it brings. I get both sides, but I love it. I totally get why some people find the cold, unpredictable weather and dark uninviting and harsh, but I love any excuse to slip into my pajamas and a pair of woolen slippers, drink hot chocolate and read a terribly exciting book. I love sitting for hours in deep sofas in cafe's with friends, nipping to a cup of cappuccino and unconsciously letting the buzz of people sharing stories and laughing fill me with a sense of safety and peacefulness. We're learning about collages in school at the moment, so I made this to practice! I hope it'll inspire you to invite a friend you haven't seen in a while for a warm cup of coffee!
